Membership in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) is mandatory for all full-time regular staff. This is a defined benefit plan with a five-year vesting requirement.
Contributions are made by payroll deduction. Employee and employer contributions are required on all earnings. Employees contribute 6.79% of their gross salary; the College of Southern Idaho contributes 11.97% of salary.

Membership in the Optional Retirement Plans (ORP's) is mandatory for all full-time instructional and administrative employees unless already vested with PERSI. These are defined contribution plans with immediate vesting. Contributions are made by payroll deduction. Employees contribute 6.97% of their gross salary; the College of Southern Idaho contributes 10.31% of the salary. Investment choices are the responsibility of the employee, and the plans are portable. Further details on the Retirement System may be obtained from the HR Payroll Office.
