Preventing Harassment on Campus

Instructions for Taking the Course

nosex

The College of Southern Idaho is committed to a positive work environment, including one free of harassment and discrimination.  To ensure that we all understand our rights and responsibilities regarding appropriate workplace behavior, each of us will be taking an online course “Preventing Harassment on Campus.”

Here are some tips for taking the course.  You may want to print and keep them nearby for easy reference. Below you will find specific instructions for logging in.

Entering and Exiting the Course

We encourage you to take the course straight through.  If necessary, however, you can exit the course and your place will be saved.  When you return, you will be taken to the section where you left off.

If, at any point, you’d like to see where you are in the course and what you have already completed, click on the “Quiz Show” link (it will be on the left-hand side of your screen).  You will see a set of boxes representing each page of the course.  A checkmark will indicate the pages that you have completed.  To go back to a section of the course, just click on it in the grid.  If you have any difficulty, please call 732-6269 for help.

Handouts

To assist you in navigating the course quickly, we have prepared some handouts that you may wish to print or view first. These materials are also available to view online as part of the course. The policy statements are always available online in the CSI Employee Policies & Procedures Manual .

Certificate

At the end of the course, you will be able to print out a Certificate of Completion. If you are a full-time employee we ask that you please send a copy of this certificate to the HR department, TAB, to place in your personnel file. We do not maintain personnel files on part-time employees.

Getting Started

Before entering the course, be sure to turn off any pop-up blockers that you may have installed on your computer.  Pop-up blockers can interfere with the proper operation of the course.  (If you do not turn off your pop-up blocker, be sure that you know how to override it when necessary.  You can temporarily override many pop-up blockers by holding down the “control” key when you click on a button or link that opens a pop-up).  It also is a good idea to close any other programs that you have open.

Course Evaluation

Your thoughts and ideas about this program would be helpful towards developing future employee training on our campus. Please consider taking the time to print, complete, and mail the course evaluation to Judy Thom, TAB. All evaluations are confidential.

Step 1 – New Student Enrollment

The page that appears is the login screen.  To begin the self-enrollment process, select the “ENROLL” button. You are a New Student the first time you enter. Remember that the first time you enter the site you do so as a NEW STUDENT. Your username and password are NOT necessarily related to any other name or password you use at CSI. You can make up your own. Your user name can be your email address. Try a password that has at least 6 characters. Do NOT use a series of numbers only as your password, although a word followed by numbers works well; i.e., something such as "password123."

Step 2 – Enter the Access Key

After selecting the “ENROLL” button in step 1 you will be directed to a new page.  Enter your access key into the “Access Key” field and then select the “SEND” button.

Access key

You can copy and paste the access key from this document to make certain it is exactly right.  Your access key is:

Staff: 9964-phc-6332
Supervisors:
8140-phcs-4211
Faculty: 9333-phcf-8146
(Administrators should take the Faculty version)

Step 3 – Registration Details

After selecting the “SEND” button in step 2 you will be directed to a new page.  Fill in only the required fields (required fields are marked with an asterisk “*”) and select the “SUBMIT” button.  Usernames must be unique within the system.  Again we suggest you use your CSI email address as a username.  Make a note of your username and password because you will need this information in the next step and on each successive visit to this site.

Step 4 – Log In

After submitting the information in step 3 you will return to the first screen where you can enter your new username and password to access the site.  Enter the username and password into the fields and select “LOGIN”.  If you cannot remember your username or password, select the “Forgot your Username or Password?” link.

Once you have logged in, you may launch the course through the “Catalog” menu item as shown below. Rather than "Sexual Harassment," the dropdown box actually says Workplace Compliance.
